1. Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Kelsey (she/her) and I’m a Pisces sun with a Libra moon and Taurus rising. I’m a daughter, an older sister, a cousin, a friend. I’m someone who believes that we owe each other compassion, tenderness and empathy. I write for a living, mostly about music, film, art, food and culture. It’s been a dream of mine since I was twelve years old, so I imagine young me would be very proud of the woman I’ve become and the bylines I’ve acquired.

2. What does feeling beautiful mean to you?

I feel beautiful when I take care of myself, when I’m gentle with myself. I think feeling beautiful is all about a frame of mind. We all have ebbs and flows, when we may not love what we see in the mirror, but for me those moments come when I’ve been neglecting my internal self.

3. What do you like to wear closest to your skin?

Malin + Goetz Dark Rum perfume and essential oils. In terms of clothing, silks and cashmere.

4. What do you wear to feel most like yourself?

Red when I want to tap into my own power, yellows and oranges when I need to bring my own sunshine wherever I go, greens and blues when I feel at ease. I have a very chameleonic wardrobe because every day I wake up and seize the possibility of becoming anything my heart desires. I need my clothing to reflect the fact that what I want to present to the world could change on any whim.

5. When do you feel most confident?

When I’m dancing with my eyes closed in the middle of a dance floor, when I’m wearing a favourite outfit, when I’m whipping up a five-course meal in the kitchen, when I'm surrounded by the laughter of my friends.

6. What makes a place feel like home?

My ever-growing library that I take with me on every move. The right music at the right time. Feeling safe enough to unravel completely.

7. Are there any self-care rituals that are important to you?

A morning swim, which helps me feel weightless and clear-headed. Inventing new recipes and cooking them from scratch. Blasting nostalgic music and dancing around the house. A walk in the ravine near my home.

8. How does wearing Fortnight make you feel?

Playful, coy, comfortable, sensual and in control.
