Introducing Spring-Summer 2016
One of the most exciting aspects of our new and improved web platform is that we have the chance to tell you more about what goes into each collection. We spend so much time sourcing fabrics, carefully placing each new stitch/seam on endless samples… and planning photoshoots, that it seems like we’re onto the next season without taking enough time to share what went into the last one.
This season’s colour palette is a little brighter and bolder than ever before, featuring a new print, pops of neon, coral and a rich, deep indigo called Nightshade.
Willow is a new group for Spring/Summer 16. Its our first real print which we hope to do more of in the future. It looks as if each line was painted by hand in black against a soft grey background. The fabric is a soft, matte jersey made in Italy. It has technical properties, which make it practical, easy to care for and durable, while still feeling delicate enough to wear next to your skin (Functionality and femininity is kind of our favourite thing). It’s moisture wicking, quick drying and has excellent stretch and retention which means it will always keep its shape and won’t stretch out as you wear it.
In the meantime, here’s a little behind the scenes peek at our SS/16 photoshoot. Our pals at Crown Flora Studio in Toronto created this secret garden setting. We all got on our hands and knees to lay down moss, piece by piece while Adam Mallory meticulously orchestrated a symphony of colours and textures with lots… and lots of fresh cut flowers.
