1. Who are you and what do you do?

Hi! My name is Francesca (Frankie) Ramirez (@flowers_in_your_hand).

I'm a Mother to two little ones, Bruno 5 and Louisa 4. I've sold vintage clothing online for about 12 years. I grow and arrange flowers. I dye silk scarves with plants and flowers. I just launched an online shop, Flowers In Your Hand where all of these things come together. I'm also in the process of creating a small clothing line. It's been something I've wanted to do for 10 years!

2. What do you like to wear closest to your skin?

Natural fibers of any kind. My silk scarves have been a fixture around my neck and I end up sleeping with them most nights. But really, as long as it's grown on the Earth in some way, I'm drawn to it. Soft broken-in antique linen and gauzy cotton seem to be my favorites, though I do love hand knit wool sweaters, even the scratchy ones.

3. What does feeling beautiful mean to you?

The feeling of dirt beneath my feet, sunshine on my hair, and flowers in my fingertips makes me feel connected to my truest self. Being close to the Earth in that way can transcend so much for me.

 4. What do you wear to feel most like yourself?

I really love dresses with a full, tiered skirt that fall just above the ankles. Anything that will dance around in the wind. But I also love a pair of jeans or overalls with a good patina. I think I feel the most like myself when I'm wearing certain colors- creams, copper, dusty pink, rust red. Desert colors.

5. When do you feel most confident?

When I'm practicing self-acceptance. Recognizing all aspects of myself and loving them. Looking at the things that make me feel triggered and understanding where that wound comes from. Appreciating the things that come to me with ease. Allowing parts of myself to fall away and be re-created. Really, just following my intuition- and letting myself be. Following what feels like a YES in my body and listening to the NO's. It's been a journey that will continue on, but I am grateful for every version of myself that I've ever been, and the versions I will someday be.

6. What makes a place feel like home?

My family. I've felt like a tumbleweed for so much of my life, but being together always feels like some version of home.

Natural light, our favorite cotton gauze throw blanket, my favorite handmade mugs for coffee/tea respectively, and any kind of cut flowers or dry ornamental grasses in a clay vase can do wonders for making a temporary space feel like home.
